Job description

The Delivery Specialist is responsible for maintaining and operating store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers safely and efficiently. This role also involves collecting money on C.O.D. deliveries and picking up customer returns.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
2. Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
3. Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and complete daily vehicle inspections before operation.
4. Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and collected monies at all times.
5. Pick up customer returns, such as new, warranty, and cores, and fill out driver return slips.
6. Communicate customer problems or special needs to store management.
7. Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage immediately to the store manager.
8. Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the vehicle is locked and secured at the end of each day.
9. Clock in/out according to company policy.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned, including customer service, stocking, merchandising, running errands, and handling core returns.
11. Assist customers, serve as a cashier, or help with merchandising tasks as needed.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES

Required:

• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Driving record must meet the standards set by the company's 14/18-point record system.
• Possess a valid state driver's license and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
• Familiarity with automotive parts.
• Ability to operate light store equipment.
• Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired.
