Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a Route Driver to represent the company while making deliveries and picking up freight.

The position starts at $20.00–$24.00 per hour, with 10–15 hours overtime per week and possible weekend OT. Responsibilities include delivering and picking up freight, loading the truck, inspecting the vehicle, collecting payments when required, and maintaining a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Perform other related duties as assigned
