Job summary

Union Beer Distributors in New Jersey is seeking a Dispatch Operations Associate to provide coverage across Delivery Operations when leadership is unavailable and to support AM/PM dispatch functions. You will help drivers with route issues, paperwork, and customer needs while monitoring routes and ensuring timely communication and compliance.

The role requires strong coordination with drivers, supervisors, and other departments, with flexibility for weekends and peak periods.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of delivery/dispatch/transportation or related experience preferred.
• Willingness to cover shifts including weekends and peak times.
• Strong communication and teamwork across drivers, managers, sales, customer service, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage across Delivery Operations when managers, supervisors, dispatchers, or support roles are off.
• Support AM and PM dispatch functions, including route setup, paperwork, phones, printers, and driver materials.
• Assist drivers with route issues, closures, delays, breakdowns, and other delivery-related needs.
• Monitor route progress and identify delayed routes or service concerns early.
• Support delivery reporting and follow-up, including logs, emails, and dispatch records.
• Assist with compliance and administrative tasks and payroll-related activities.
• Train on Brooklyn shipping/routing support and improve service time updates.
• Provide Saturday dispatch or other schedule coverage when assigned.

Job description

• Provide coverage across Delivery Operations when managers, supervisors, dispatchers, or support roles are off, unavailable, or focused on higher-priority needs.
• Support AM and PM dispatch functions, including route setup, paperwork, phones, printers, driver materials, equipment readiness, and daily route adjustments.
• Assist drivers throughout the day with route issues, account concerns, closures, delays, breakdowns, accidents, injuries, phone/printer problems, and other delivery-related needs.
• Monitor route progress, identify delayed routes, and escape service, safety, staffing, equipment, or customer concerns early.
• Support delivery reporting and follow-up, including logs, stem reports, pushed stop/load emails, missed stop follow-up, Jotform submissions, and dispatch records.
• Assist with compliance and administrative tasks such as LYTX follow-up, driver coaching documentation, Fleetworthy records, parking ticket research, affidavits, EZ Pass/traffic violations, and related records.
• Support manpower planning, daily assignments, route reviews, time-off calendar updates, timesheet review, payroll corrections, onboarding, meetings, and special projects.
• Train on Brooklyn shipping/routing support, including route sequencing, shipping reports, order review, delivery instructions, off-day reports, and service time updates.
• Provide Saturday dispatch or other schedule coverage when assigned.

What You Will Do

What We Are Looking For

• 2+ years of delivery, dispatch, transportation, logistics, warehouse, beverage distribution, or operations experience preferred.
• Prior lead, supervisor, trainer, dispatcher, or operations support experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn multiple delivery functions and provide coverage wherever needed.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, peak-season schedules, Saturday dispatch, and occasional Brooklyn coverage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with drivers, helpers, managers, sales, customer service, safety, garage, warehouse, vendors, and other departments.
• Strong organization, follow-through, urgency, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment.
• Comfort using systems, reports, spreadsheets, email, dashboards, and delivery-related platforms.
• Ability to follow company policies, safety requirements, union contract guidelines, and management direction.
