Job summary

Gulfeagle Supply's Northglenn Branch is seeking a Delivery Material Handler to ensure accurate delivery of building materials to job sites. You will work with drivers, operate a forklift/crane/conveyor, and assist with loading/unloading, site routing, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include loading materials, verifying quantities, guiding drivers, and maintaining equipment and facilities. Requires ability to lift up to 100 lb, climb ladders, and endure varying weather conditions;

Qualifications

• Read, write and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location.
• Knowledge of roofing material and distribution is helpful.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift and climb as part of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Load or assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily.
• Verify material quantities for accuracy and assist driver with site location.
• Unload or assist in unloading materials using forklift, crane, conveyor or by hand.
• Climb ladders up to 40 feet and place materials on roofs as needed.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and participate in inventory checks.
• Keep warehouse, yard and trucks clean and presentable.
• Assist customers with materials and report delivery issues.

Delivery Material Handler

Our Delivery Material Handlers work alongside our driver and are responsible for ensuring the proper delivery of building materials to the job site by using a forklift, crane, conveyor and/or by hand. Essentials Functions

Delivery

• Responsible for loading or assisting in loading and securing materials on trucks daily.
• Assists in verifying the quantities of materials for accuracy.
• Assists driver in locating the job site.
• Spot driver when backing up into a job site.
• Direct driver in placement of the conveyor.
• Unload or assist in unloading materials by using forklift, crane, conveyor and/or by hand (may require walking varying distances based on job site conditions).

Roof Top

• Responsible for climbing up to a 40‑foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof.
• Ensure proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof.

Equipment

• Ensure truck is properly equipped for delivery including filling cooler, strapping materials, loading ladder and other as needed.

OSHA

• Responsible for OSHA compliance as it relates to oneself and the company.
• Assist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed.

Maintenance

• Maintain warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper presentable manner. Minor repairs as needed.

Safety

• Responsible for the safe handling of materials including wearing back brace, gloves, shoes and other safety devices as appropriate. Responsible for aiding in the safe operation of vehicles as it relates to the customer’s property and Gulfeagle’s property.

Customer Service

• Aiding customers with materials, reporting problems with deliveries, service issues, and all other as needed.

Accountability

Reports directly to the Branch Manager and indirectly to the District Manager on branch and personnel issues. Reports indirectly to the Safety team regarding fleet, safety and staff.

Education, Experience, and Licensing

• Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location.
• Knowledge of roofing material and/or construction and distribution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb.
• Must lift up to 100 pounds of material continually for up to two hours at a time.
• Ability to work on multi‑story buildings at various heights.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, rain, or shine.
• Requires a high degree of attention to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materials and equipment.
• Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply.
• Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner. Tact and diplomacy required in dealing with customer personnel at delivery points.
• Ability to handle all functions of the job in a safe manner.
• Must pass substance abuse screening; employees are subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy.
