The Delivery Manager is a hands‑on leader who combines operational expertise with a commitment to employee engagement and continuous improvement. This role oversees all aspects of delivery operations-including routing, fleet management, and personnel development-ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in product flow. While the Delivery Manager leads through others, they are expected to be actively engaged on the floor and in the field, supporting the team and solving problems alongside them when needed. This position requires someone who leads by example, develops talent, and drives performance across all facets of the operation.
The Delivery Manager ensures delivery operations run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with business goals. By leading supervisors and driving strategic improvements, this role directly impacts customer satisfaction, operational success, and team engagement.
Develop Teams: Build and support a high-performing delivery organization by developing Delivery Supervisors and empowering them to lead effectively, while maintaining an active role in driver development. Engage directly with drivers through ride-alongs, feedback sessions, and recognition programs to reinforce company standards and foster growth. Drive succession planning, coaching, and career development to ensure long-term talent strength across all levels.
Deliver Results: Take full ownership of delivery performance across all routes and shifts. Ensure operational goals are met by monitoring KPIs, optimizing processes, and holding teams accountable for accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
Communicates Clearly: Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to supervisors, drivers, and cross-functional partners. Translate organizational priorities into actionable plans and ensure alignment across all levels of the delivery operation.
Adapt to Change: Lead teams through organizational changes, acquisitions, and process improvements with confidence and empathy. Respond effectively to evolving business needs, customer demands, and operational challenges while maintaining stability and engagement.
Collaborate: Build strong partnerships with internal teams-including warehouse, sales, and routing-and external stakeholders. Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and shared accountability to achieve business objectives and deliver exceptional service.
