Job summary

Builders FirstSource in Georgia seeks an Assists Driver to help deliver customer orders, assist with loading and securing product, and drive a pilot vehicle for oversize loads. CDL not required.

Responsibilities include delivering orders with a company van or pickup under 10,000 GVW, securing proof of delivery, and helping maintain vehicle safety and compliance while meeting daily productivity goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year experience performing these or similar tasks.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to read maps and understand routes.

Responsibilities

• Assists with loading and appropriately securing product onto or inside delivery vehicle using motorized or non-motorized material handling equipment.
• Assists Driver in delivering and off-loading product at customer facility. With assistance from Driver will carry product (i.e., drywall, windows, doors, etc) to a designated area at the customer site.
• Delivers customer orders to customer site using a company van or pickup truck. Obtains signed proof of delivery.
• Drives pilot vehicle for oversize loads, ensuring compliance with appropriate safety regulations.
• Inspects and maintains delivery vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
• Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.
