JOB SUMMARY
The Delivery Engineer | Splunk will provide technical expertise in guiding clients through the levels of effort for configuring, installing, and developing against the Splunk platform for operational intelligence. This customer‑facing role is responsible for delivering project‑related consulting services to analyze large streams of machine data generated by IT systems and infrastructure—physical, virtual, and cloud.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Drive complex deployments and integrations of Splunk, working side by side with customers to solve their unique problems across a variety of use cases.
- Collaborate across the organization to bring access to product and technical teams, ensuring the right solution is delivered and driving feature innovation from customer input.
- Leverage prior experience, share best practices, and create innovative solutions to push user adoption and maximize the value of Splunk.
- Collaborate with and enable customers to solve the next wave of questions on their own.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical consulting or big data analytics.
- Ability to quickly explore, examine, and understand data from multiple disparate sources and how it relates to the customer’s business.
- Demonstrated understanding of common enterprise applications, especially in security and finance.
- Experience with both Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface.
- Working knowledge and recent experience with scripting languages (bash), application development (Java, Python, .NET), databases, and analytical tools.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders from IT administrators to executive level executives.
- Well organized with a strong sense of urgency—capable of setting, communicating, and meeting aggressive deadlines with competing priorities.
- Excellent speaking and customer interaction skills.
- Statistical and analytical modeling experience is a plus (not required).
- Remote contract position; candidates must be located in the United States.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / CERTIFICATIONS
- BA/BS in computer science, computer engineering, finance, mathematics, or related fields.
- Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin.
- Splunk Core Certified Consultant.
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure, and certification. The range for this position may differ by location. Certain positions may be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary. $100 - $125 USD
