Job summary

Jimmy John's is hiring Delivery Drivers in North Canton, OH with open availability. You’ll use your own vehicle to deliver orders, assist in-store when not on deliveries, and provide a friendly guest experience. Expect part-time shifts and the potential to advance into management as you prove reliability.

Base pay is $11.00/hour (day) and $12.00/hour (evening after 4 PM) with mileage reimbursement and keeping 100% of tips. Total earnings average $15–$25/hour including tips and incentives.

Responsibilities

• Safely navigate to customer locations and deliver orders using a personal vehicle.
• Accurately collect cash or process card payments and obtain signatures when required.
• Follow safety protocols and keep personal belongings under $50 on shift to deter theft.
• Mount and wear the provided car-topper sign on the vehicle before shifts.
• Assist in-shop with taking orders, making sandwiches, prep, and cleaning.
• Deliver a welcoming, energetic customer experience at doors and inside the shop.

What You'll Do:

• Safe Delivery Operations: Safely navigate to customer locations, follow all traffic laws, and efficiently deliver orders using your reliable personal vehicle.
• Transaction Management: Accurately collect proper cash amounts or secure credit card slip totals and customer signatures upon delivery.
• Driver Safety Protocol: Strictly adhere to our safety standards by never carrying more than $50 on your person at any point during your shift to ensure you are not a target for theft or robbery.
• Vehicle Branding: Properly mount and wear a provided car-topper sign on your vehicle before starting every shift.
• In-Shop Support: When not actively out on a delivery, you are expected to jump in and be ready to help the dedicated in-shop team with all tasks, including taking orders, making sandwiches, prep work, and cleaning.
• Customer Service: Provide a welcoming, energetic experience for our guests both at their door and inside the shop.

Schedule Requirements:

• Part-Time Hours: General flexibility with scheduling
• Typical Driver Shifts: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Closing Shift).
• Scheduling: Team members are expected to be fully accountable for their schedules, which are managed conveniently through the 7shifts online platform.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Compensation: Average total earnings of $15.00 to $25.00 per hour!
• Base Pay: $11.00/hour (Day shifts) / $12.00/hour (Evening shifts after 4:00 PM)
• Mileage: $0.45 per mile reimbursement
• Tips: Keep 100% of your tips!
• Flexible Payouts: Bi-weekly direct deposit, with an option to sign up for daily pay via a Branch Card after your first paycheck.
• Shift Meals: Free sandwich on all shifts. Employees working an 8-hour shift or longer receive a free regular-size combo meal.

Candidate Requirements:

• Driving Credentials: Must possess a valid and current driver's license, active car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for delivering.
• Physical: Must be able to lift items up to 40 lbs. Must be able to bend, reach, move equipment, and get under equipment for cleaning and upkeep.
• Age Requirements: Candidates under 18 must provide a valid work permit if they are currently in school (Note: Delivery driving typically requires candidates to be 18+ depending on state commercial driving regulations).

Ideal Experience:

Experience in food service, delivery driving, customer-facing roles, fast-paced execution, drive-thru, expediting, line cook, dishwasher, or leadership positions is a major plus.
