Job Details

The Delivery Driver transports and delivers customer orders to retail locations by following an established schedule.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Transportation Manager

Pay starts between $15 - $16 per hour

Essential Functions

1. Operate a delivery truck in delivering customer orders to retail locations and elsewhere in accordance with an established delivery schedule and accepted safety standards.
2. Manage customers' orders and other materials to ensure accuracy by delivering, unloading, and scanning products to assigned locations at each delivery stop and receive payment from customers as necessary.
3. Record mileage, delivery loads, and other important information as needed.
4. Report vehicle condition problems or concerns.
5. Clean and wash truck as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of safe driving habits and procedures, including laws and regulations for motor vehicle operation.
• Knowledge of arithmetic – counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Effective communication skills in writing or speaking, suitable for the audience.
• Ability to provide quality customer service within the scope of the company and position.
• Ability to drive safely and efficiently.
• Basic clerical skills such as record keeping and form completion.
• Ability to read and understand memoranda, reports, and bulletins.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with no restrictions other than corrective lenses; a clear driving record with no more than two points.
• Must be over the age of 21.
• Cannot be a registered sex offender.

Equipment Used

Working Conditions

Driving an enclosed truck; working outdoors while unloading goods, sometimes exposed to extreme temperatures.

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and stooping.
• Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching when unloading deliveries.
• Frequent talking and hearing; use of telephone and in-person communication.
• Frequent use of near and far vision while driving and delivering.
• Often lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds.
• Handling orders, sorting, and checking.
• Sometimes pushing and pulling containers weighing 75 – 300 pounds.
