Job summary

Carter Lumber in New York delivers building materials to customers, requiring safe operation of company vehicles and timely service. You will provide friendly, professional customer service and help the yard when deliveries slow to meet weekly hours.

As a Delivery Specialist, you’ll join a growing, family-owned company with a long history. Growth is encouraged from within, and health and retirement benefits are offered to full-time employees.

Qualifications

• Delivery experience with building materials or large items preferred.
• Favorable driving record; license class C or D may be required in some states.
• Knowledge of building materials and delivery equipment preferred.
• Friendly, customer-service orientation and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Transport orders to customers safely and on time using company vehicle.
• Ensure daily delivery schedules are met and communicate with customers.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service during deliveries.
• Assist in the Yard during slow delivery periods to meet weekly hours.

Description

As one of our Delivery Specialists, you will be responsible for transporting orders to customers in a safe and timely manner using a company vehicle. You will ensure that daily delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional customer service. If deliveries slow down, you have the opportunity to help in the Yard to ensure you reach your weekly hours goal.

Requirements

• Previous delivery experience, preferably with building materials, furniture, appliances and other large items that need to be handled with care
• An acceptable driving record (some states require a chauffeur, class C or class D license)
• Familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment is preferred
• Ability to be a team player
• A friendly, customer-service-driven personality
