Moves inventory between distribution centers using a company-provided or rental vehicle. Maintains records of deliveries, inspects and maintains delivery vehicles, and makes customer deliveries as needed. This position requires operation of a company or rental vehicle, and this operation may be done during the work week. The company will monitor Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs), and an acceptable MVR status along with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with hazardous materials endorsement is required.
Major responsibilities include transporting inventory, including hazardous materials, safely between locations; ensuring order manifests are complete and trailers are loaded correctly; performing vehicle inspections according to DOT regulations; reporting vehicle issues; maintaining records; planning routes; and making local deliveries. The role involves independent judgment, physical exertion, and exposure to environmental hazards. Overnight travel is less than 10%. Typically, candidates have technical certification or an associate degree and 5-7 years of related experience.
