Job Description

DELIVERY DRIVER - BASIN DISPOSAL INC
WALLA WALLA, WA

Local, established company looking for a Delivery Driver. Must be able to exert up to 65 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 15 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Be a team player, have a great attitude, and maintain excellent attendance.

Strategic Work: (Managerial details, how the employee’s tasks fit into the company as a whole, as well as the company’s vision going forward from a culture and operational standpoint.)

• Make safety a priority at all times
• Be courteous with all customers, both internal and external
• Report any concerns with equipment, routes, or customers to a Lead or Manager
• Clock in at the start and end of the scheduled shift
• Report to work as scheduled and wear a clean employee uniform
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Tactical Work/Tasks: (Specific tasks the employee is expected to do)

• Meet driver expectations and requirements, including pre/post trip inspections, fueling, washing the truck, VIR, radio usage, COVID procedures, securing load, honking horn when reversing
• Operate trucks and equipment according to company standards, e.g., fuel vehicle daily, plug in to CNG pump, turn off battery switch
• Comply with safety standards, e.g., complete accident reports on the day of an incident
• Report safety or quality concerns to supervisor
• Ensure carts are full and ready for delivery daily
• Inspect yard and address housekeeping needs
• Set up and repair carts and containers
• Break down and stack irreparable carts daily
• Wash carts and organize in designated areas
• Conduct quarterly yard inventory
• Dispose of extras at landfill daily
• Maintain CDL driver qualifications and valid driver’s license
• Hold a current medical card
• Maintain acceptable MVR
• Participate in on-the-job training for operating other trucks/equipment
• Follow instructions and observe legal driving practices
• Work independently without close supervision
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including recurring tasks

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Work outdoors daily, subject to extreme weather
• May be exposed to waste, pathogens, insects, animals, and hazards
• Moderate to loud noise level
• Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, climb into trucks/equipment
• Lift, push, carry, pull up to 50 lbs routinely, up to 90 lbs as needed
• Manual dexterity required for grasping and reaching
