SWDS Driver Job Description

The SWDS Driver is responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using company vans or pick-up trucks. The driver ensures deliveries are complete, correctly packed, and safely delivered to the right customer. They are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe and timely manner.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. Such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The company reviews criminal history to protect its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

The selected individual will work at Store #3711, located at 865 W Dundee Road, Wheeling, IL 60090. This is a part-time role with pay starting at $18.00 per hour. Hours are 20 per week, primarily on Monday and Friday.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service
• Experience using material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• Previous experience selling paint and related products
• Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish

Responsibilities

• Prepare deliveries to meet customer requirements efficiently
• Load customer orders properly on the truck
• Complete appropriate forms
• Transport and deliver items safely and promptly
• Maintain store vehicle and report repair needs
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints
• Follow routes and schedules, adhere to transportation laws, and maintain a safe driving record
• Prepare delivery reports and documents
• Operate equipment such as cars, trucks, forklifts
• Perform additional store duties, including warehouse tasks, tinting, and customer order preparation
