Job summary

Honolulu Cookie Company is seeking a warehouse/delivery support associate to assist in daily operations, including loading, unloading, and order fulfillment. The role emphasizes safe driving, adherence to GMPs, and collaboration with multiple departments to ensure timely delivery of products.

The ideal candidate has a valid driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving experience, and the ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks.

Qualifications

  • Possession of valid driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years driving experience with a clean record.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card.
  • Able to understand and follow oral or written work instructions.
  • Able to communicate efficiently and provide professional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Support warehouse operations including delivery, transfers, and order picking.
  • Safely load and unload vehicles and secure cargo to prevent damages.
  • Complete delivery orders on assigned routes and report issues or incidents.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and professionally.
  • Follow GMPs, food safety policies and internal procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and delivery areas.

SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting warehouse operations through delivery, warehouse transfers, storing and picking orders.

DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for following all departmental direction and adhering to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), food safety and all established operational policies and procedures
  • Learn and follow safety procedures and participate in training specific/safe operation of trucks, forklifts, and other powered industrial machines (inverter, electric pallet hacks, bubble wrap machines…etc.)
  • Assist in the generation, pulling and committing purchase orders requested from retail departments and other revenue centers as scheduled
  • Assist in inspecting outgoing orders for accuracy physically/systematically
  • Ensure products are delivered accurately within a timely manner, while being safe and taking extra precautions
  • Safely load vehicles with company material and requests and securing properly to avoid damages or injuries.
  • Complete delivery orders to customers on assigned route plans
  • Safely unload inventory into designated locations
  • Pick up and distribute mail, interoffice envelopes, and other parcels accurately to the proper personnel
  • Safely operate all vehicles including forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment in a safe and professional manner
  • Ensure Pallet Standard Operating Procedures are followed
  • Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles; refuels as needed
  • Record all delivery times and locations with provided checklists
  • Inform management by identifying vehicle maintenance and or problematic mechanical issues including low tire pressure, tire wear dents...etc.
  • Report any incidents/accidents encountered while enroute
  • Ensures all drivers checklists are fill out accurately and submitted on a daily basis
  • Support all manufacturing departments as needed
  • Ensures all temperature-controlled transportations are recorded in the internal release forms
  • Responsible to maintain allergen food contact responsibilities
  • Assists in sanitation controls surrounding work area
  • Ensures all direct food contact supplies are logged according to procedure
  • Ensures lot numbers are recorded at time of receipt
  • Assist in day to day warehouse operation.
  • Transport materials, finished goods between warehouses and external freezer/chiller storage
  • Utilize computers, phones, and other electronics to communicate to other departments and record activity within the Delivery Department
  • Perform other duties as assigned including housekeeping of common areas
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
  • Represents the company brand image and shares aloha to all customers, business partners, and co-workers at all levels throughout the company
  • Possession of valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 3 years driving experience with a clean driving abstract/record
  • Proficient at driving and parking large vehicles
  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card
  • Able to understand and follow oral or written work instructions
  • Able to communicate efficiently
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Professional disposition, and able to give customers positive customer service experiences
  • Able to work with all employees and always maintain open communication
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to gas pump fumes, and exhaust from vehicles.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee is regularly required to lift up to 15 lbs. and up to 25 lbs.
  • The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to lift, push or pull up to 75lbs or more and with proper equipment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate order filling an receiving of material and delivery of product inventories
  • The employee is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic performing daily tasks.
  • The employee is required to be able to safely operate a forklift, manual/electric pallet jack and/or recycling baler machines
  • Employees are regularly required to walk from location to location maneuvering over uneven ground
  • Must be able to work in cold temperatures for hours at a time
  • Must be able to work at heights varying over 10 feet and above with ease
