Foresight Group in Lansing, MI, is seeking a Delivery Driver to join the production team. This role focuses on safe, timely delivery of items to clients, while upholding customer service standards and accurate order fulfillment.

You will work onsite, follow routes, and support inventory and shipping tasks as part of a collaborative production environment. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift heavy items.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load, transport, and deliver items to clients in a timely, safe manner.
• Inspect vehicles and maintain safe loading/unloading procedures.
• Prepare shipping documents and ensure orders match packing slips.
• Coordinate with customers to confirm delivery details.
• Maintain inventory and assist fulfillment as needed.
• Operate fork truck and pallet jacks as required.
• Keep vehicle maintenance logs and report repairs.

The Delivery Driver position is responsible for customer satisfaction and transporting items in a safe, timely manner. The delivery driver will pick up and drop off items while adhering to routes and time schedules. Driver will work as part of the production team in order to ensure that the items are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct client. To succeed as a delivery driver, you will represent Foresight Group in a professional, polite and prompt manner and be committed to customer service. This position also performs a variety of functions involving asset and inventory control, logistics, and other errands.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

• Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner
• Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete and the customer is satisfied
• Loading and unloading items from vehicles
• Inspects delivery vehicles and ensures the safety and security of the loading and unloading process
• Contacts customers, as needed, to confirm delivery details
• Maintains vehicle maintenance logs and makes the supervisor aware of repairs or maintenance needed
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries
• Preparing shipments for third party transport, ie. UPS, FED EX or others, timely and accurately
• Will support the fulfillment department as needed, and select product and move to the shipping area
• Package materials, label cartons and prepare for shipment
• Prepare shipping documents and place shipment for pick up
• Ensure delivered products match purchase order and packing slip in description, quantity, and condition
• Verify inventory by comparing to physical counts, investigating discrepancies, and adjusting for errors
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms or other areas
• Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout warehouse environment and loading areas to promote a safe and efficient workplace
• Upon request, monitor and track shipments to ensure that goods are received in a timely manner and that late deliveries are received and unloaded expeditiously
• Respond to various requests by employees and management in a timely and professional manner
• Communicate effectively with coworkers to provide feedback on goods and services received
• Operates fork truck, pallet jacks, moving equipment, and other delivery vehicles

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Valid Chauffeur Driver’s license with a good driving record is required
• Good grammatical and typing/ data entry skills with an emphasis on accuracy
• Approachable demeanor and ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers, exhibit a positive attitude and commitment to excellence
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
• Strong time management and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to walk, drive, and lift and carry heavy items for extended periods
• Forklift experience is preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Occasionally needs to move about inside of office area
• Frequently moves equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds for transport between areas of buildings and to customers
• This position requires onsite presence at the employee’s assigned location for all scheduled shifts
