Job description

This position is responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Drivers are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner. The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at Store #3344, located at: 608 Aberdeen Rd. Hampton, VA 23661, and may be expected to work in surrounding stores within a 10-mile radius.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business, its operations, reputation, and the safety of its customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
• Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) from a DOT-licensed medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry or be willing to obtain one within five business days of a conditional offer
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports
• If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have a “meets expectations” (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal
• If internal, must have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience as a delivery driver
• Experience using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks)
• Previous experience selling paint and related products
• Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish
