Job summary

Tindell's, Inc. in East Tennessee seeks a Wood Truss & Beam Delivery Driver. This is a physical role delivering materials to job sites by semi or straight truck, with occasional loading/unloading and yard help.

You will use a forklift and assist with delivery, while providing excellent customer service. Must have an F-endorsement, pass a DOT physical and drug screen, and 6 months of truck driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver wood trusses and beams to job sites via semi truck or straight truck.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials.
• Move materials to and from vendor deliver vehicles and storage areas using a forklift or dolly.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Assist yard staff and help with building deliveries as needed.

Basic Functions: Delivers Wood Trusses & Beams to the jobsite, via a Semi Truck with Roll-Off Stretch Trailer that stretches out to 70' & or Straight Truck with a Rollback bed. Frequently the loads are over width & or over length that must be escorted per DOT guidelines. Inspects, and maintains truck, reports shortages, and claims to Material Manager and assists in loading and storing of materials.

Please note this is a physical job and does requiring assisting with some loading/unloading.

Moving materials to or from vendor deliver vehicles, storage, work sites, or designated areas using a forklift, dolly and other devices.

Providing the best customer service while unloading building materials ranging from truss to trim.

Promptly completes deliveries and returns to store in a timely manner.

Works on yard to assist customers between delivery assignments.

Assists yard workers in unloading and storing returned merchandise.

Assists forklift operators with building delivery loads.

Acts with a sense of urgency to provide prompt service to customers.

Relays messages sent by customers during job-site deliveries.

Must Haves:

• 6 months previous experience driving truck. (Prefer lumber experience & experience with hauling oversized loads.)
