Job summary

Tindell's Building Materials in Cleveland, TN is seeking a driver to deliver wood trusses and beams to job sites. This is a physical role requiring loading/unloading and adherence to DOT guidelines.

Candidates must have at least 6 months of truck driving experience, an F-endorsement, pass a DOT physical and drug screen, and commit to outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver wood trusses and beams to the jobsite by Semi Truck or Straight Truck.
• Inspect and maintain truck; assist with loading/unloading and report shortages to Material Manager.
• Move materials to/from vendor vehicles, storage, sites using forklift, dolly and other devices.
• Provide excellent customer service while unloading building materials.
• Promptly complete deliveries and return to store in a timely manner.
• Assist yard workers and unload/store returned merchandise; relay customer messages.
• Assist forklift operators with loading delivery loads; operate with urgency to serve customers.

Basic Functions

• Please note this is a physical job and does requiring assisting with some loading/unloading.
• Delivers Wood Trusses and Beams to the jobsite, via a Semi Truck with Roll-Off Stretch Trailer that stretches out to 70' and or Straight Truck with a Rollback bed. Frequently the loads are over width and or over length that must be escorted per DOT guidelines.
• Inspects, and maintains truck, reports shortages, and claims to Material Manager and assists in loading and storing of materials.
• Moving materials to or from vendor deliver vehicles, storage, work sites, or designated areas using a forklift, dolly and other devices.
• Providing the best customer service while unloading building materials ranging from truss to trim.
• Promptly completes deliveries and returns to store in a timely manner.
• Works on yard to assist customers between delivery assignments.
• Assists yard workers in unloading and storing returned merchandise.
• Assists forklift operators with building delivery loads.
• Acts with a sense of urgency to provide prompt service to customers.
• Relays messages sent by customers during job-site deliveries.

Must Haves

• 6 months previous experience driving truck. (Prefer lumber experience and experience with hauling oversized loads.)
