Job summary

Oertel Metal Works in Davenport, IA is seeking a reliable Delivery Driver and Shipping & Receiving Associate. You will ensure products reach customers safely and promptly, with daily routes in the Quad City region and occasional customer pickups.

When not delivering, you’ll assist in the warehouse with shipping and receiving, including pulling and palletizing parts, loading/unloading trucks, and keeping shop areas maintained. A Class B CDL is required and overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Class B CDL (Illinois equivalent acceptable).
• Experience operating a forklift or ability to learn safely.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and being on your feet all day.
• Collaborative team player in a manufacturing environment.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Deliver parts within the Quad City region.
• Complete pickups at customer locations.
• Assist in the warehouse with shipping and receiving tasks.
• Pull and palletize parts, load and unload trucks.
• Perform general shop maintenance as needed.

Oertel Metal Works is currently seeking a reliable and safety-oriented Delivery Driver and Shipping & Receiving Associate for our Davenport, Iowa location.

Our Delivery Drivers are responsible for ensuring our products get to our customers both safely and quickly. Day to day duties could include delivering parts within the Quad City regions or completing pick-ups at customer locations, so a valid Class B license is a must! In addition, when not on deliveries, our Drivers can help in our warehouse with Shipping and Receiving; that could be pulling and palletizing parts, loading and unloading trucks, and general shop maintenance tasks.

What makes you successful in this position?

• Previous fork truck driving experience, or the ability to learn and safely operate a fork truck
• Valid Iowa Class B CDL, or Illinois equivalent
• Enjoy working in a physical role. You’ll be on your feet & moving throughout the day, which could also include lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Team player mentality and the desire to be a part of a successful, hard-working team.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

This position works Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm each day, with the option for overtime.
