Job summary

Airgas, Inc. is seeking a Local Delivery Driver for Salt Lake City, UT on a Monday–Friday schedule. Join a team that operates a modern fleet and delivers cylinders and hard goods to branches and customers.

You will manage local route deliveries, pickups, and load manifests while maintaining safety and accuracy in every step of the process. Prerequisites include a Class B CDL with HazMat (or ability to obtain after offer), clean MVR, and a current Medical Examiner's Card; lifting requirements

Qualifications

• CDL Class B license with HazMat endorsement or ability to obtain after offer.
• At least one year of DOT-regulated vehicle driving experience.
• Clean MVR and valid Medical Examiner's Card are required.
• Ability to read material safety data sheets.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs regularly and up to 125 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to drive hazardous cargo up to 8 hours and work overtime if needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods to Branches or customers on a scheduled daily route.
• Pick up empty cylinders from customer sites.
• Record deliveries and pickups on a load manifest.
• Load/unload truck and set up cylinders for use.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and document deficiencies.

Position

• Local Delivery Driver — Salt Lake City, UT
• Schedule: Monday through Friday

Environment

• Fleet Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet. Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation.

Responsibilities

• You will deliver compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders and hard goods to Branches and or customers on scheduled daily route.
• Pick up empty cylinders from customer sites.
• Record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest.
• Loads/unload truck and set up cylinders for use.
• Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies utilizing Airgas forms and ensure all safety items are in good working order.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL driver's license with HazMat endorsement. Hazmat can be obtained after the offer.
• At least one full year of experience driving a Class A or B vehicle under DOT requirements.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Current Medical Examiner's Card.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.
