Preston Feather Building Centers in Northern Michigan is seeking a dependable Delivery Driver to safely deliver lumber and building materials to builder customers across Northern Michigan. You will operate company delivery vehicles, load and unload materials, and ensure orders are accurate while providing courteous service at every stop.

This full-time, Monday-Friday role features no nights or weekends, with a focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork in a fast-growing family-owned company.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Chauffeur's License and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and move building materials, and perform physical work.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and handling building materials.
• Comfortable working outdoors and navigating active construction sites.
• Delivery driving or building materials experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate delivery vehicles and load/unload materials.
• Deliver to customer jobsites and verify orders for accuracy.
• Maintain delivery documentation and communicate with dispatch.
• Provide professional customer service and communicate with dispatch.
• Assist with loading, yard duties, and other yard operations as needed.
• Perform vehicle inspections and follow safety practices.

Position Summary

As aDelivery Driver, you'll help keep our builder customers' projects moving by safely delivering lumber and specialty building materials throughout Northern Michigan. You'll operate a variety of delivery vehicles, handle materials with care, and provide great service at every stop.

This is a hands-on, local driving position for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is willing to pitch in wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company delivery vehicles, including box trucks and other vehicles as licensed and qualified
• Load, secure, transport, and unload building materials at customer jobsites
• Verify orders for accuracy and complete delivery documentation
• Provide professional, courteous service and communicate with customers and dispatch
• Assist with preparing loads, serving yard customers, and supporting other yard operations as needed
• Perform vehicle inspections and follow safe driving and material handling practices
