Delivery Driver - CDL Only (Finance)

About the Role:
You will:
- Operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules, applicable laws, and regulations. Destinations include job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, facilities of other wholesalers, or other locations as directed by management.
- Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered. Secure the load properly to prevent shifting, damage, or falling. Ensure the necessary equipment for safe unloading is available. Affix appropriate DOT hazmat placards if hauling hazardous materials over 1,000 lbs.
- Understand shipping documents associated with each delivery and have accurate directions to each destination.
- Review shipping documentation for accuracy and unload merchandise at the delivery site, obtaining signatures as per company policy.
- Collect and secure payments for cash sales prior to releasing merchandise.
- Work with customers to resolve shipping discrepancies promptly.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Loading merchandise from other locations, including vendor pickups, customer returns, and other wholesalers.
- Providing sales leads by noting prospective customer details during deliveries.
- Inspecting the truck and required parts for safe operation before departure, keeping the vehicle clean, and reporting mechanical issues.
- Completing safety and compliance training as required.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
About You:
- You must be able to drive a vehicle over 26,001 lbs. and meet the following criteria:
- At least 21 years old.
- Possess a valid CDL with hazmat endorsement if required.
- Have a driving record that qualifies as an Authorized Driver per company policy.
- Pass a DOT physical exam before starting and every two years thereafter.
Our ideal candidate will also:
- Know the laws and regulations governing motor vehicle operation, especially DOT regulations.
- Operate delivery vehicles safely, including those with GVWR of 26,001 lbs. or more.
- Practice safety in warehouse and material handling environments.
- Build positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Remain calm and effective in stressful or emergency situations.
- Learn to operate warehouse equipment and computer systems related to delivery.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Perform basic math operations.
