Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Delivery Driver, CDL B in Charlotte, NC to deliver dry ice to customer locations. You will operate CDL B trucks with liftgates and perform load verification and customer interactions.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading with forklift/pallet jack, obtaining signatures, and maintaining safety and DOT compliance. Benefits and a 40+ hour work week are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 1 year CDL driving in last 5 years or certificate from trucking school in last 12 months.

We are looking for you!

• Compensation: $24.00/ HR
• Referral Bonus: $1000
• Schedule: Monday - Thursday with some Friday work (start time is 3-5am)Average 40+ hour work week, 7-12 stops a day

Distribution Branches are located in strategic locations throughout the country to provide service to key industries, including universities and labs. Quality, reliability, and service are the key drivers that enable Airgas to grow with organizations that depend on dry ice and cold shipping supplies. We invite qualified candidates to join the Airgas team as a B Delivery Driver for Charlotte, NC.

• Drive truck to deliver dry ice to customer's place of business.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment to load and unload dry ice.
• Obtain customer signature, ensure piece count matches load manifest, and collect empty dry ice boxes to be returned to the plant and/or branch.
• Provide customer service and give feedback from customers to the Branch Manager.
• Perform pre and post trip inspections on trucks according to DOT and company maintenance checklist. Keep the inside of the truck clean.
• Comply with all company policies, safety policies and procedures, and DOT and OSHA requirements
• Secure cargo prior to and during transit

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

• At least 21 yrs old
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
• Confirmed experience driving in the military with a CDL will also count for the required experience.
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years
• No serious violation ticket (speeding 15+, reckless driving, etc) in the last 3 years.
• No suspensions of CDL in the last 3 years except for "Failure to pay child support".
• No DUI on the last 7 years.
