In‑store temperatures range from 36 degrees in coolers to 90 degrees and above in some work areas, with sudden changes in temperature while inside or outside.
Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust.
Cramped quarters including walk‑in coolers. Hot surfaces/tools up to 500 degrees or higher. Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Talking and hearing on the telephone; near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks; depth perception; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Standing: Most tasks performed from a standing position; walking surfaces include ceramic tile bricks with linoleum in some food process areas. Height of work surfaces is between 36 inches and 48 inches.
Walking: Generally short distances for short durations. Delivery personnel travel between the store, delivery vehicle, and customers’ location.
Sitting: Paperwork normally completed in an office at a desk or table.
Lifting: Bulk product deliveries made twice a week or more, unloaded by team member using a hand truck. Deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds and dimensions up to 3 feet by 1.5 feet. Cases usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72 inches high.
Carrying: Large cans (3 pounds, 7 ounces) carried from workstation to storage shelves. Occasionally pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds carried from storage to front of store. Trays of pizza dough carried three at a time over short distances, weighing approximately 12 pounds per tray.
Driving: Deliver pizzas within designated delivery area; may make several deliveries per shift.
Pushing: Trays on dollies (24‑30 inches) require force up to 7.5 pounds to push. Trays may also be pulled.
Climbing: Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder for maintenance or price sign changes. Delivery may involve five or more flights of stairs.
Stoop/Bending: Forward bending at waist necessary at pizza assembly station; duration approximately 40‑45 seconds repeated continuously during the day. Also present at front counter for stocking ingredients.
Crouching/Squatting: Occasional to stock shelves and clean low areas.
Reaching: Continuous reaching up, down, and forward. Workers reach above 72 inches to turn oven controls, change price signs, lift and lower objects. Reach down for tasks like scooping cornmeal from plastic barrel, washing dishes. Forward reach for topping ingredients, cleaning work surfaces, answering phones.
