Delivery Expert Job Requirements And Duties

You must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards as well as access to an insured vehicle which can be used for delivery. You should possess customer service skills, navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area, and must be able to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings.

General Job Duties For All Team Members

• Operate all equipment.
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler. Prepare product.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility daily.

Training

Orientation and training provided on the job.

Communication Skills

• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.

Essential Functions/Skills/Abilities

• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
• Must be able to make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area. Must navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.

Work Conditions

Exposure to varied and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks. In-store temperatures range from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas. Sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside. Fumes from food odors. Exposure to cornmeal dust. Cramped quarters including walk-in cooler. Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500 degrees or higher. Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.

Sensing

• Talking and hearing on telephone.
• Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks.
• Depth perception.
• Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.

Physical Requirements

Includes, but not limited to the following:

• Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position.
• Walking: For short distances for short durations; surfaces include ceramic tile with linoleum in some food process areas; height of work surfaces is between 36" and 48".
• Sitting: Paperwork is normally completed in an office at a desk or table.
• Lifting: Bulk product deliveries are made and unloaded; deliveries may include cases weighing up to 50 pounds. Cases are usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72" high.
• Carrying: Large cans weighing 3 pounds 7 ounces; pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds; trays of pizza dough weighing about 12 pounds per tray.
• Pushing: Move trays on dollies; force up to 7.5 pounds.
• Climbing: Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.
• Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist; 30-45 seconds at one time; also at front counter and when stocking ingredients.
• Crouching/Squatting: Performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
• Reaching: Reaching is performed continuously; occasional reach above 72" to turn on/off oven controls, change prices, or lift and lower objects to shelves.
• Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands; shaping pizza dough; manipulate pizza peel; frequent pinching to assemble boxes; grasp cans, phone, cutters, and boxes.
• Machines, Tools, Equipment, Work Aids: Calculators, computers, telephones, pizza cutter and peel, etc.

Qualifications

All drivers (applicant or employee) must meet these requirements in order to be eligible to drive:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Have a minimum of the last 2 years licensed driving history in the United States
• Must provide documentation of at least 2 years of licensed driving history in the U.S.
• Must have an unsuspended or uninterrupted driving history of at least 1.5 years during the last 2 years. The suspension cannot be at the start of the 2 year period
• No more than 1 violation and 1 at-fault accident in the last 2 years
• No more than 2 violations and 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years
• No more than 3 violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years
• No distracted driving/inattentive driving violations in the last 3 years
• No serious violations in the past 5 years (examples include drugs/alcohol, leaving the scene, failing to report an accident, reckless driving, vehicular homicide, hit and run, speed contest, eluding police, false police reports, driving while suspended/not licensed, speeding 30 mph or faster over limit)

Periodic Delivery Vehicle Inspection

Motor vehicles used for business purposes must have the following items inspected at the start of employment and periodically: headlights, turn signals, tires, rear-view mirrors, taillights/brake lights, brake pressure, windshield wipers, doors, backup lights, exhaust system, horn, safety belt. If a vehicle does not pass inspection it must not be used for business deliveries; inspections are not a substitute for professional mechanical inspections and the operator is responsible for safe operating condition.
