Job summary

US Foods is looking for capable Delivery Drivers to join our team in New York. You will safely drive to customers, unload orders, verify deliveries, and collect payments when needed. Strong customer service and reliable timeliness are essential to keep our service levels high.

Candidates must have a CDL Class A, be at least 21, and be registered in the FMCSA Clearinghouse. Experience in food/beverage delivery is a plus; manual transmission may be required in some locations.

Qualifications

• Must register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have CDL Class A with endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months in food/beverage delivery.
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.
• Must read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times.
• Unload products from trailer using a two-wheeler or pallet jack and place in storage areas.
• Verify delivery with customers and obtain signatures.
• Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
• Perform customer service duties to enhance client experience.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.

Schedule - Monday to Friday Dispatch time Midnight to 1 AM

Main Ingredients of the Job

• Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
• Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
• Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
• Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
• Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
• Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
• Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required

What You Bring to the Table

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $24.50 and $35.00. As applicable, this role may also receive , component pay (i.e., based on cases, mileage, stops).
