Job summary

Elliott Electric Supply in Terrell, TX is seeking a delivery and warehouse associate to transport materials on delivery routes, load and secure cargo, and ensure accuracy with ship tickets and delivery manifests.

You will perform daily vehicle inspections, handle receiving, storing, and shipping in the warehouse, and participate in cycle counts. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; a valid license and clean MVR are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license in state of residence with a minimum of three (3) driving history.
• MVR with no type A violations; or no more than one (1) type B violation in past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Delivery and warehouse duties; transport materials on delivery routes and ensure safe operation of vehicles.
• Provide prompt and courteous deliveries and verify materials against Ship Ticket/Delivery Manifest.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license in state of residence with a minimum of three (3) driving history. Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) with no type A violation; or no more than one (1) type B violation in the past three (3) years. Previous experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more. Must be able to read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze. Function independently, completing a variety of tasks accurately and with close attention to detail in a team environment. Fluent in English and Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Frequent driving is required in all types of weather conditions. Must adhere to the proper safety regulations since there will be occasional exposure to events such as excessive noise and moving machinery. Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Regular handling of objects and lifting of up to 75 pounds. Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in Sec. 391.41. A Department of Transportation physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner. The USDOT's Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation, 49 CFR Part 40, at 40.151(e), does not authorize 'medical marijuana' under state law as a valid medical explanation for a transportation employee's positive drug test result.
