Job summary

POTOMAC FLORAL WHOLESALE is seeking experienced, full-time Delivery Drivers to transport flowers, live plants, and floral supplies in a cargo van from our Silver Spring, MD location. The role requires working non-traditional hours, including weekends, with an hourly rate of $18.00 and overtime pay for additional hours.

Local delivery services cover the Mid-Atlantic region: VA, DC, MD, PA, DE, and NJ. Responsibilities include loading and securing orders, safe driving, and representing the company

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR record.
• Ability to load and unload orders and safely operate a cargo van.

Responsibilities

• Drives safely and completes routes in a timely and efficient manner.
• Selects orders from our warehouse and/or prepares deliveries and loads the vehicle.
• Represents the company in a positive and professional manner while operating the company vehicle and treating customers with respect.
• Reports discrepancies in customer payment to Dispatch before leaving customer premises awaiting instructions.
• Ensures all necessary paperwork is completed.
• Responsible for daily vehicle inspection.
• Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
• Maintains a clean working environment and cares for the van and workspace.
• Communicates and follows Dispatch route assignments.
• Performs all duties in conformance to safety and security standards.

Job description

Potomac Floral Wholesale is a well-established and rapidly growing company located near the heart of Silver Spring, MD. Our spacious warehouse is home to a plethora of different flowers, plants and, floral supplies. These include reading customer orders, picking and packing orders, sorting items, loading and unloading trucks, quality control, inventory, and helping to maintain a safe work environment at all times. Some duties may require the use of a bunch cutter, stem remover, lifting of heavy objects, and exposure to cold storage temperatures as low as 40 degrees. You will be expected to have an understanding of all aspects of your role and follow specific safety and quality guidelines.

Delivery Driver:

Potomac Floral Wholesale is looking for experienced, full-time drivers who have a passion for both customer satisfaction and safety on the road. You will be expected to safely operate a cargo van while transporting flowers, live plants, and floral supplies. Delivery drivers are responsible for loading and securing orders in a van and delivering items in a timely manner. Applicants must be willing to work non-traditional hours including weekends. We offer local delivery service throughout the Mid–Atlantic region which includes Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. You must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR record.

Hourly Rate: $18.00

DUTIES:

• Drives safely and completes routes in a timely and efficient manner
• Select orders from our warehouse and/or prepare deliveries and load vehicle
• Represent the company in a positive and professional manner while operating the company vehicle, adhering to traffic safety as well as treating the customer with the utmost respect.
• Reports any discrepancies in customer payment to Dispatch before leaving customer premises awaits instructions.
• Make sure that all necessary paperwork is completed
• Responsible for daily vehicle inspection
• Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor.
• Maintains a clean working environment. Takes proper care of assigned van and workspace.
• Communicate and follow Dispatch route assignments
• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
