FLSA Status: Casual/On Call, Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Expected Hours: 5-15 hours/week, depending on coverage needs

Schedule

Typical Backup/On-Call Schedule (delivery times are subject to change):

• Wednesday 8:30 am – 12 pm / 2:30 pm – 6 pm Sebastopol pick-up and delivery throughout Sonoma County
• Wednesday 9 am-3 pm Novato pick-up and delivery throughout Napa County
• Friday 8:30 am – 12 pm / 2:30 pm – 6 pm Sebastopol pick-up and delivery throughout Sonoma County
• Friday 9 am-3 pm Novato pick-up and delivery throughout Solano County
• Occasional support for cart runs to Novato and backup driving on Thursday PM shifts and Monday/Tuesday, including emergency weekday and occasional weekend deliveries

Position Summary

The paid On-Call Delivery Driver at Ceres assists with county-wide food deliveries across Sonoma, Marin, Lake, Solano, and Napa Counties. Responsibilities include delivering food and supplies, supporting emergency meal provisions, and representing Ceres with compassion and care, especially for clients with health conditions. The ideal candidate is adaptable, community-oriented, and comfortable working with diverse groups.

Typical Schedule

Delivery times may vary but generally include:

• Wednesday 9:00 am-12:30 pm / 3:00 pm-6:30 pm in Sebastopol
• Friday 9:00 am-2:30 pm / 3:00 pm-6:30 pm in Sebastopol
• Additional deliveries to other counties as needed
• Support for cart runs and backup driving during weekdays and weekends

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of meals and emergency food supplies
• Transport supplies, donations, and inventory among sites
• Support staging and hosting weekly deliveries
• Load/unload vehicles and perform vehicle temperature checks
• Assist with wellness checks and client interactions as needed
• Communicate professionally with donor and recipient organizations
• Follow food safety guidelines and escalate issues appropriately

Other Duties

• Vehicle maintenance and sanitation
• Event logistics and material preparation
• Manage Ceres’ credit card and purchase protocols
• Participate in community events and outreach

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, at least 2 years’ driving experience, and 18+ years old
• Flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends
• Organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and friendly
• Strong communication skills; bilingual in Spanish a plus
• Patience and desire to serve the community
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Construction/repair experience is a plus

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to move, walk, sit, drive, and handle objects; lift up to 50 pounds
• Visual acuity and outdoor work as needed
