Job summary

Elliott Electric Supply is seeking a professional delivery driver/warehouse associate to transport materials, load and unload orders, and maintain accurate ship tickets from store to customer locations.

You will perform daily vehicle inspections, ensure safety, and handle receiving, storing, and shipping tasks to keep the warehouse orderly and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient with Android or iOS operating systems.
• Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
• MVR with no major violations and limited speeding violations.
• Minimum 1 year of CMV operation with GVWR ≥ 10,001 lbs in the last 36 months.
• Strong reading, writing, basic math, data entry, reasoning and analysis.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Transport materials on designated routes and ensure safe vehicle operation.
• Provide prompt, courteous deliveries; verify items against Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest.
• Load/unload materials and secure for transport; check accuracy at delivery sites.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections for maintenance and safety.
• Manage warehouse tasks: receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and order preparation; maintain orderliness.

Ensure that material loaded on the truck is as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to destination. Unload materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material is correct based on the Ship Ticket. Perform daily detailed inspection of vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety of vehicle. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing products for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in an orderly fashion.

This is a safety-sensitive position, the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test. This test screens for amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following the cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The USDOT's Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation, 49 CFR Part 40, at 40.151(e), does not recognize 'medical marijuana' as a valid medical explanation for a transportation employee testing positive for THC.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Must demonstrate proficiency with Android or iOS operating systems. Valid driver’s license from the state of residence is required, minimum of three (3) years of driving history. A satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR), with no Type A violations or speeding violations exceeding 15 mph over the limit within the past three (3) years, and no more than one (1) Type B violation in the same time frame. A minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or greater within the last 36 months. Strong skills in reading, writing, performing basic calculations, data entry, reasoning, and analysis are essential. The ability to work independently while managing a variety of tasks accurately and with attention to detail in a team-oriented environment is required.

Physical Requirements

Must meet the physical qualifications to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with Section 391.41 of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA). Regular visits to customer sites will expose the employee to various weather conditions and environmental factors. Awareness of and adherence to each customer’s safety protocols is essential, as there may be occasional exposure to hazards such as loud noise or moving machinery. The role requires frequent walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and kneeling. Occasional pushing, pulling, and reaching are necessary. Handling and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds is expected, with occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
