Overview

Join to apply for the Delivery Driver role at Ashley Furniture Industries.

The Home Delivery Driver delivers products to designated locations in an efficient, effective and safe manner, while promoting exceptional customer service through quality workmanship, as well as clear and professional communication.

Responsibilities

Drive to customers’ homes on pre-routed trips. Delivery can range from drop at doorstep to full set up of product in home.
Maintain a customer centric mindset to provide a world class delivery experience.
Prepare and load customer delivery trucks; unload and safely place product in customer home; remove all packaging materials from the location.
Conduct physical inspection of product to identify damages, perform touch-up and repair as needed on product.
Handle product safely; place product in designated storage areas safely.
Understand and comply with all store policies and procedures.
Communicate and document customer concerns to Warehouse Support; communicate credit, damage and essential information to Customer Service Department.
May be required to complete shipping/receiving paperwork and Department of Transportation paperwork.
Maintain a clean and organized warehouse area; maintain a professional image.
Assist other drivers with vehicle inspection, routine maintenance and fueling of vehicle at approved locations.
Complete other assignments and special projects as requested; maintain reliable attendance.
Access knowledge related to local geographical area, lifting techniques, furniture industry and furniture assembly, furniture line, and Continuous Improvement tools.
Demonstrate the ability to obtain and maintain required State and Federal driving requirements; frequently lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs to shoulder height; assemble furniture; work safely around moving mechanical parts.
Exhibit effective interpersonal communication, time management and organizational skills; work independently as well as in a team; maintain confidentiality; respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues.

Qualifications

Clean driving record – 3 years
NO CDL needed
Must be 21 years of age

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: This position pays an hourly rate of $19.00.

Profit sharing is available to eligible employees; this discretionary program is dependent on the profitability of the company.
