Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Hillsborough, NJ seeks a Delivery Driver to load and transport flower arrangements and assist participants to and from day programs.

You will drive a company vehicle, ensure safety, and perform errands such as bank visits or supply pickups as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and strong communication with diverse individuals are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and stay calm in a crisis.
• Ability to interact with a wide range of people.
• Ability to establish a supportive relationship with consumers.
• Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Load and transport flower arrangements to delivery sites as needed.
• Transport individuals to and from day programs.
• Assist individuals getting on and off vans or vehicles.
• Maintain safety of individuals and a safe environment.
• Perform tasks such as bank visits, supply pickups, or transportation of consumers.
• Attend staff meetings as determined by supervisor and complete trainings.
• Cooperate with licensee and department staff during inspections; comply with policies.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.

Job description

Community Options, Inc. is a national non‑profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.

We are seeking aDelivery Driver in Hillsborough , NJ. The Delivery Driver loads and transports arrangements to customer's homes, business, municipal buildings, hospitals and any location required by the business, using a company vehicle. The Delivery Driver also transports consumers to and from program and acts as a stand in for program transportation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and transport flowers arrangements to delivery sites, as indicated by business needs
• Transport Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities to and from day program
• Assist individuals with getting on and off vans or vehicles
• Ensure the safety of Individuals and maintain a safe environment
• Perform any tasks needed by shop involving driving, including but not limited to bank visits, supply pick up or delivery and transportation of consumers to and from homes
• Attend staff meetings as determined by supervisor
• Attend any necessary trainings
• Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
• The ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation
• The ability to interact with a wide range of people
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with consumers
• Ability to read and write English
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Working Conditions

• Employee travels utilizing your own vehicle or company provided vehicles
