Job summary

HOM Furniture is seeking a Delivery Driver to manage a daily straight truck route, deliver and assemble furniture as needed, inspect items for flaws, and resolve customer concerns. You will also inspect and maintain the company vehicle, perform other duties as needed, and join a team with strong benefits.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver''s license with a clean record, ability to pass a DOT medical exam, and 1–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a driver''s license and a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Medical Physical.
• 1–3 years related experience preferred.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 150 lbs solo and 300 lbs with a team; occasional heights.
• Must be 21 or older; good communication, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Delivering customers'' furniture along a daily route, including assembly and installation when required.
• Inspecting furniture for flaws or damage.
• Resolving customer complaints if they arise.
• Inspecting and cleaning the company vehicle to keep it presentable and functional.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

• The Delivery Driver is responsible for driving a straight truck along a daily delivery route. Tasks along the delivery route include:
• Delivering customers' furniture including assembly and installation of the furniture when required.
• Inspecting furniture for flaws or damage.
• Resolving customer complaints should they arise.
• The Delivery Driver will inspect and clean the company vehicle to keep it presentable and functioning.

Requirements

Education: Must be working towards or have a high school diploma or GED.

Licenses Required: Must have a driver's license and a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Medical Physical.

Experience: 1-3 years related experience preferred.

Physical Demands: High physical demands can be required. The employee is regularly required to stand for sustained periods of time. The employee can be expected to lift, push, and pull up to 150 pounds individually and up to 300 pounds as a part of a team. Occasionally, The employee will be required to ascend and descend ladders and stairs in a safe manner. May be required to work safely from heights when necessary. The employee must adhere to safe lifting techniques, follow proper training for learned job hazards and ergonomic risk factors, participate in the departmental stretching program, and maintain an overall safe working environment.

Other: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be 21 or older.
