Reports To: Pharmacy Manager

Role Summary:

The Driver will play an essential role in delivering nuclear pharmacy products and services to and from the company's clients consisting of hospitals, physician's offices, community medical centers and other hospital and medical facilities.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensures the timely delivery of nuclear pharmacy products to predetermined customers on specific routes while meeting internal schedule and quality standards. Follow map/directions to locate delivery locations efficiently.
  • Unloads products as per client specifications while providing excellent customer service.
  • Acts as a customer service liaison for the company, including treating all internal and external customers with respect, listening to and assisting in resolving customer complaints. Informs management of complaints or requests in a timely manner.
  • Accept returns from clients where applicable. Break down delivery cases, dispose of radioactive materials and sanitizes lead pigs.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork for deliveries and returns.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the inside and outside of delivery vehicles and facility.
  • Assists with the stocking of products and supplies throughout Facility as well as tracking inventory. Notifies the Pharmacy Manager when products or supplies are low, need to be re-ordered or replaced.
  • Performs routine safety checks on vehicles and pre-trip vehicle inspections according to company guidelines. Immediately report all vehicle maintenance issues or malfunctions to the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures while safely carrying out the responsibilities of position. Complies with all company safety standards, and all federal, state and local laws.
  • Obtains required DOT training and certification.
  • Works various shifts based on the needs of the location
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager.

Job Requirements │ Skills │Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with valid state driver's license required.
  • Must have and maintain clean driving record.
  • Must have the ability to efficiently plan routes and exhibit proper driving etiquette.
  • Must have the ability to drive in all types of weather and road conditions safely.
  • Ability to work a variety of shift schedules including early mornings, days, nights, holidays, weekends, overtime, and on-call as needed.
  • Must possess excellent critical-thinking, interpersonal communication and customer service skills. As well as good judgement and self-discipline.
  • Prior driving, delivery and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • May be required to pass physical fitness (assessment of strength, endurance and stamina) to evaluate physical ability to perform regular duties of the job.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity for manipulating small items; regularly lift at least 50 pounds throughout each
  • shift and to be able to lift 75 pounds on occasion.
  • Able to handle standing, walking and sitting for 4+ hours with limited rest intervals;
  • Good eye-hand coordination; fair eyesight (with or without correction lenses);
  • Normal hearing in at least one ear (hearing range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz);
  • Ability to analyze situations, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • Effective organizational skills;
  • A commitment to continuous learning;
  • An ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
