Your role and responsibilities

As a Delivery Consultant, you'll collaborate with IBM clients and partners to design, deliver, and optimize IBM Technology solutions aligned with their goals. Your technical expertise and consultative skills will ensure top-tier delivery. Responsibilities include:

  1. Understanding client challenges and developing solutions through design, development, integration, implementation, migration, and support phases.
  2. Creating and executing agile plans for asset installation, provisioning, testing, migration, and operations.
  3. Conducting technical solution workshops.
  4. Building relationships across all levels within client organizations.
  5. Demonstrating self-motivation, curiosity, and initiative to resolve issues.
  6. Collaborating and communicating effectively with clients, partners, and internal teams.

Required technical and professional expertise

We seek an IBM Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (IBM GDPS) IT Management Consultant with expertise in IBM Z and Storage technology. Key responsibilities include leading and delivering pre-sales and post-sales engagements, assessing IT infrastructures, and creating solution recommendations. You should have experience implementing IBM GDPS, familiarity with sysplex architecture, and strong collaboration skills.

Your tasks involve developing and delivering IBM GDPS solutions, including:

  • Setup, configuration, and cloning of z/OS
  • Configuring and customizing GDPS capabilities
  • Designing automation with NetView, REXX, and JCL
  • Supporting deployment testing and providing technical guidance
  • Producing documentation and reports

This role requires strong knowledge of IBM Systems Z hardware/software, z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, networking, and automation. You will work with customers and IBM teams to scope and deliver IBM GDPS solutions, leveraging your background in consulting or technical sales.

Additional technical skills include:

  • z/OS High Availability technologies
  • Copy Services such as Metro Mirror and Global Mirror
  • z/VM and Linux on z Systems administration
  • Experience with IBM InfoSphere Replication Server

Minimum 3+ years in customer-facing communication, requirements analysis, project management, networking, Tivoli System Automation, storage management, and workshop leadership. Must be self-organized, eager to learn, with strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Willingness to travel up to 20% and fluency in English are required.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • GDPS, PPRC, and DR solution design
  • SMP/E, assembler, JCL, REXX, CLIST knowledge
  • IBM System Automation and Red Hat experience
  • Ansible and basic RACF knowledge
