Job summary

National DCP, LLC. is seeking a Delivery Assistant in Farmingdale, NY to support drivers in unloading and delivering products to Dunkin stores. You will operate pallet jacks and hand trucks, sort product into freezer, cooler, and dry zones, and help ensure accurate placement and safe delivery.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, basic math and product knowledge, and flexibility to work varied shifts; NDCP offers full benefits and room for growth across departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior mover helper/warehouse loading and unloading, experience a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to follow simple directions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees and external customers.
• Strong team player.
• Flexible to varying work schedules.
• Able to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with the delivery of product into Dunkin stores using an electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack and/or two-wheel hand truck.
• Identify products on the delivery truck under varying lighting conditions in trailer or truck.
• Learn product descriptions and box types to assist in proper delivery at each location.
• Assist driver in placing stock into proper delivery zones in the store (freezer, cooler and dry).
• Lift boxes and bags of varying sizes and weights frequently.
• Divert traffic to promote a safe working environment for backing up the driver.
• Navigate busy parking lots and intersections while delivering with a hand truck or pallet jack.
• Climb in and out of tractors and trailers repeatedly.
• Safely operate side and rear lift gates on delivery vehicles.
• Assist the driver with other requests within safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with the delivery of product into Dunkin stores using an electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack and/or two-wheel hand truck. The product will be separated into freezer, cooler, dry, and chemicals.
• Assist the driver with identifying the product(s) on the delivery truck under various lighting conditions that may exist in the trailer or delivery truck.
• Learn product descriptions and box types to assist in the proper delivery of product at each location.
• Assist the driver in placing stock into the proper delivery zone in the store (freezer, cooler and dry).
• Lift boxes and bags of varying sizes and weights frequently during the course of a day.
• Divert traffic to promote a safe working environment for the driver to back up into the store parking lot and delivery area. Guide the driver through parking lots.
• Navigate through busy parking lots and intersections while delivering product using a two-wheel hand truck, an electric or manual pallet jack.
• Climb in and out to the tractor and trailers repeatedly throughout the day.
• Safely operate the side and rear lift gates on the delivery vehicles.
• Assist the driver with any other requests within safety guidelines and/or company policy.
