Job summary

Eurofins USA PSS Insourcing Solutions is seeking a skilled formulation scientist to support pharmaceutical testing and analysis in Indianapolis. The role involves preparing formulations, performing UPLC/HPLC analyses, and ensuring data integrity in a GMP-like environment.

The candidate should have strong lab experience, SOP adherence, and familiarity with texture analysis or microscopy is a plus. Full-time position with comprehensive benefits and standard Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Pharmacy or related field; MS/PhD preferred for higher levels.
• Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech labs with formulation prep and SOP adherence.
• Hands-on experience with UPLC/HPLC, solvent prep, and data analysis.
• Exposure to texture analyzer testing and microscopy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and weigh reagents and excipients per SOPs for formulations.
• Run UPLC/HPLC analyses and perform data interpretation.
• Conduct texture analyzer and microscopy testing as required per SOP.
• Maintain accurate notebooks and follow lab safety and documentation standards.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Formulation Preparation
  • Accurately weigh reagents and excipients per formulation SOPs
  • Mix and prepare formulations according to written protocols
• Analytical Testing (UPLC)
  • Prepare samples and run UPLC for formulation/content analysis
  • Follow SOPs for method setup, solvent/mobile phase prep, sample injection, and data analysis
• Characterization Testing
  • Perform texture analyzer testing on microneedle arrays (e.g., mechanical strength, insertion force) per SOP
  • Perform microscopic evaluation of microneedle arrays (e.g., needle integrity, morphology) per SOP
  • Maintain accurate lab notebooks/records for all tasks performed
  • Follow all lab safety and documentation standards
    

Qualifications

Required Background & Skills

• MS/PhD: 1-2 yrs exp or BS: 3-5 yrs exp
• Hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or analytical chemistry lab
• Demonstrated experience with formulation prep: accurate weighing, calculations, and mixing per SOP
• Demonstrated experience running UPLC/HPLC, including solvent/mobile phase prep, sample injection, and data analysis
• Exposure to texture analyzer testing and microscopy are a plus
