Job summary

The Town of Leesburg is seeking a qualified professional for tax assessment, billing, and delinquent collections in the Finance and Administrative Services Department. The role requires strong knowledge of tax laws, careful review of filings, and disciplined collection actions.

• Minimum of two (2) years of tax assessment, billing, and collections experience.
• Experience in computerized accounting systems.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Disover y enforce tax assessments and collect taxes in accordance with Virginia State Code and Town Ordinances.
• Review and verify tax filings and perform voluntary and non-voluntary collection actions.

What You'll Be Doing

This position is located within the Finance and Administrative Services Department and is under the direct supervision of the Business Tax & Delinquent Collections Supervisor with guidance from the Finance Operations Manager. Work involves the discovery, enforcement, and collection of taxes in accordance with Virginia State Code and Town Ordinances. This position performs a variety of tax assessment and revenue collection tasks including discovery and enforcement of tax assessments, review and verification of tax filings, and performing voluntary and non-voluntary collection actions. This position is independently responsible for delinquent collection work.
