The Town of Leesburg seeks an experienced Stormwater Manager to lead its stormwater program within the Department of Public Works. This role provides leadership, management, and oversight of engineering, technical, managerial, and administrative activities to continually improve the Town’s stormwater program.
Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree, Virginia PE license, and DEQ certifications, with 5+ years in stormwater management and 3+ years in supervision.

This position provides leadership, management, and overall oversight of the Town’s comprehensive stormwater management program within the Department of Public Works. Working under the general direction of the Director and/or Deputy Director of Public Works, the Stormwater Manager performs a variety of engineering, technical, managerial, supervisory, and administrative responsibilities related to planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and continually improving the Town’s stormwater management program. Work includes leading and managing staff, consultant resources, and contracts; and promoting stormwater activities through public education, outreach, code compliance and enforcement; and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations. This role requires considerable independent judgement, together with a high degree of professional engineering judgement and technical civil engineering experience in the fields of stormwater management design, inspection, maintenance, and flood control.
