DELI/STORE CHEF (Finance)

Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards. Assist in directing, supporting, and supervising all functions, duties, and activities for the department. Responsible for assisting with the execution of best practices, goals, and standards established for the department. Minimum Requirements:

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote trust and respect among associates
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products
  • Communicate verbally with customers and store personnel
  • Maintain sanitation standards according to company and health department regulations
  • Prepare all food products to established standards and recipes
  • Prepare signs and price products in cases
  • Determine needs and prepare daily shopping lists
  • Shop for products and ring through the check stand
  • Wash dishes, clean, and maintain sanitation in the work area
  • Set up and maintain stock conditions and appearances in cases
  • Prepare, place, and maintain garnishes in cases
  • Code date products properly, monitor, and remove out-of-date products
  • Load and transport products to proper locations for stocking
  • Assist customers at the Deli counter
  • Implement price changes and monitor integrity
  • Reset cases as necessary
  • Share knives properly
  • Stock supplies and ingredients to proper locations
  • Analyze costs for new recipes to determine profitability
  • Compute weekly purchases and communicate with the Deli manager
  • Direct Deli personnel in Chef duties
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of repairs
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents
  • Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
  • Manage conflicts reasonably, non-confrontationally, and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
  • Support and assist with interactions involving minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
