Job summary

Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op is expanding the deli team to support a new rotisserie chicken program in Middlebury, Vermont. This part-time position involves delivering great customer service, maintaining a clean and organized deli, and collaborating with team members in a busy kitchen.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, a strong communicator, and comfortable handling raw poultry. ServSafe safety practices and high standards are expected to ensure quality and safety in every shift.

Qualifications

• No experience required but comfortable with the physical requirements of the job and handling raw poultry.
• ServSafe safety and sanitation guidelines should be followed.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced deli environment.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked deli department and properly display items.

Deli staff provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and well-stocked department, and are positive contributors to the Deli Department team. They prepare and package quality food in an open, professional kitchen; maintain retail displays of deli and bakery items to keep shelves looking fresh and fully stocked. They follow all established procedures, working both independently and as a team to achieve department goals. No experience necessary but must be comfortable with the physical requirements of the job and handling raw poultry.

This is a part-time position.

This position comes with a set weekly schedule. We are looking for Sunday (11:30-7:30), Monday (10:00-6:00), Wednesday (10:00-6:00) availability.

Salary: $18 per hour
