Job summary

Schnucks in Overland, MO is hiring a Deli Clerk to provide friendly service, slice meats and cheeses, and prepare sandwiches and salads in a fast-paced deli. You will help maintain a clean, safe work area and ensure product quality for ready-to-eat meals.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and teamwork with store staff. Training is provided with opportunities for advancement within Schnucks.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer service skills and be a reliable team member.
• Basic math skills for translating pounds and ounces and pricing.
• Knowledge of or willingness to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Ability to operate deli equipment after training and follow safety procedures.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly service to customers in person and on the phone.
• Slice and weigh lunch meats and cheeses; offer slice thickness approval.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads and party trays while following recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the deli area, equipment, and cases.
• Rotate products and ensure freshness; restock as needed.
• Operate slicers, scales and wrapping equipment safely after training.
