Job summary

The GIANT Company is seeking a deli team member at our Berwick store. The role focuses on handling and knowledge of deli products, customer service, and compliant, safe food-handling practices in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will stock shelves, process deli items, and ensure clean, proper displays while following safety guidelines and company policies. This position requires physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work shifts of at least 4 hours.

• Must be able to communicate and understand company policies and safety regulations to complete job duties satisfactorily.
• Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base scores for this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service as an essential component of every position within GIANT/MARTIN'S stores.
• Receive, process, prepare, wrap, slice, weigh, and package products.
• Maintain proper shelf, case, and display conditions, including stocking, cleaning, straightening, and rotating product (weights vary).
• Maintain proper cooler conditions, including coding, rotating, organizing cases (often >20 lbs, up to 50 lbs).
• Maintain prep area conditions, including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations as they apply to the deli area.
• Maintain safe and clean sales floor conditions, including sweeping and mopping.
• Provide friendly and courteous customer service, answer questions, make recommendations, and promote products.
• Dress according to company policy and maintain a neat appearance.
