Job summary

The Mackenthun's Deli team in Waconia is hiring friendly, dependable members to join a family‑owned grocery. You’ll greet customers, take and fill deli orders, and assist at the deli counter while preparing hot and cold items.

Flexible scheduling for days, afternoons, evenings or weekends is available, with some holidays. You’ll be trained on deli standards, food safety, and sanitation in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred, but not required.
• Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Friendly, dependable, honest, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in food and willingness to learn about Mackenthun’s products and Signature items.
• Flexible availability for days, afternoons/evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• MN Food Manager Certification preferred; certification may be obtained after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service at the deli counter.
• Prepare hot and cold deli products.
• Set up the salad bar for the day and keep it clean.
• Set up the salad case and assist customers.
• Prepare food for the hot bar.
• Slice meats and cheeses for the meat/cheese counter.
• Cross-train to work at each deli station.
• Maintain sanitation and follow Minnesota Food Code.
