Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Specialist who is passionate about food and delivering an exceptional guest experience. You will ensure deli department freshness, rotate products, and uphold food safety standards while supporting inventory accuracy and promotions.

You will work with department leadership to manage ordering, replenishment, and displays, while engaging guests with a friendly approach on the sales floor. Competitive benefits and schedule flexibility are offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with shelf label systems or retail technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deli products meet freshness, rotation, and dating standards.
• Execute planograms and maintain product placement and signage.
• Coordinate with department leadership on ordering and replenishment of deli items.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness; proper receiving and storage.
• Support guest engagement and department readiness for promotions and seasonal events.
• Follow all policies and sanitation procedures.

What You'll Do:

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• 1+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
• Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Physical and Work Conditions:

• Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Required to spend long periods of time on their feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law).
• Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
