Job summary

The Fresh Market in North Carolina is seeking a Deli Specialist to ensure product freshness, accuracy on display, and top-notch guest service. You will support deli inventory, maintain rotation standards, and assist with promotions and seasonal events for a superior in-store experience.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in retail or hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This role requires standing for extended periods and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deli products meet freshness and quality standards, including proper rotation and dating.

• Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness, ensuring proper receiving and storage procedures.
• Play a key role in compliance during key item transitions and promotional events.
• Follow all policies, food safety requirements, and sanitation procedures.
• Engage guests with a friendly, helpful approach on the sales floor.

About the Position:

The pay range for this position is $19.17 - $20.45 + per hour.

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• 1+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
• Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Physical and Work Conditions:

• Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Required to spend long periods of time on their feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law).
• Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
