Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Specialist in Guilford, CT to maintain deli freshness, ensure proper rotation, and support guest engagement. You will handle planograms, coordinate orders, verify deliveries, and uphold food safety standards to deliver an exceptional guest experience on the shop floor.

You will work a flexible schedule including weekends with a strong emphasis on teamwork, accuracy, and hospitality in a fast-paced grocery environment. Competitive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

About the Position:

You willsupportdeli inventory accuracy,ensurerotation standards, and presentation, while supporting guest engagement and department readiness for promotions and seasonal events.

The pay range for this position is $19.64 - $20.94 per hour.

What You'll Do:

• Ensure alldeliproducts meet freshness and quality standards, including proper rotation and dating.

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• 1+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
• Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Physical and Work Conditions:

• Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Required to spend long periods of time on their feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law).
• Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
