Job summary

Caraluzzi's Markets in Danbury, CT is hiring a friendly Deli Associate to join our team. You will provide attentive customer service while preparing, packaging, and merchandising deli and prepared foods.

Responsibilities include making sandwiches, soups, and meals; assisting with catering; maintaining clean, well-stocked displays; and staying compliant with food safety guidelines. Weekend availability preferred; opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Previous deli, food service, grocery or customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn about deli products, food preparation, and culinary techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to provide excellent service to customers.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient customer service to all customers.
• Prepare and serve deli foods, including sandwiches, meals, soups, and other prepared food items.
• Package, label, and merchandise deli products according to company standards.
• Assist customers with catering orders and entertaining needs.
• Slice, weigh, and package meats, cheeses, and other specialty products.
• Maintain attractive and well-stocked deli displays.
• Learn and share knowledge about specialty cheeses, sliced meats, and prepared food offerings.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area while following food safety guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
