Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking Sales Clerks to help ensure guests' needs are met across primary areas, including prepared foods and meat departments. You will be trained to assist in all areas of the store and thrive as a team player dedicated to supporting colleagues.

You should be comfortable with physical tasks (lifting up to 50 pounds) and be at least 16 years old. Prior experience is not required, making this a great entry point into retail.

Qualifications

• 0 to 6 months experience in related field or retail.
• Food safety knowledge desirable.
• No High School diploma required.

• Maintain safety as the top priority in all aspects of our work.
• Provide unparalleled guest service, striving to delight our guests.
• Cultivate a foodie culture by sharing excitement for food with team members and guests.
• Actively demonstrate appropriate suggestive selling techniques.
• Provide active sampling opportunities, when appropriate.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils, floor and sanitation regulations.
• Stock cases by moving products from delivery area to shelves.
• Service guests by answering questions promptly and with a smile.
• Order product by scanning shelf tags or using the order machine.
• Follow proper procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Add new items to shelves while adhering to safety standards.
