Job summary

Boise Co-Op in Meridian, ID is seeking a hands-on Deli Department Manager to lead daily deli operations, ensure food safety, quality, and outstanding customer service for a busy store.

You will hire, train, and develop staff, plan schedules, manage labor, oversee ordering and inventory, and drive sales while controlling waste. A high school diploma and at least 3 years as a department manager in retail or food service are required; college degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a department manager in retail or food service.
• Extensive knowledge of deli operations and food handling practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily deli operations, ensuring food safety, quality, and customer service.
• Hire, train, and develop team members while fostering accountability and growth.
• Plan schedules and manage labor to meet department needs and financial goals.
• Monitor compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Oversee ordering, inventory, and product rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
• Track department performance against sales, labor, and margin goals.
• Collaborate with Category Management and Marketing to execute promotions and ensure product accuracy.
• Coordinate between kitchen, front of house, and other departments; improve workflows for efficiency.
